"Yoga brings many benefits, joys and much more to my life and I feel honoured to share it withothers." Heather is a certified Yoga instructor. She studied at Still Point in Northport, Ontario and did specialized training in Yoga for cardiac and cancer patients at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. Along with the regular weekly yoga classes, Heather also teaches private and semi-private classes - day and evening. (See FAQ page) Heather began doing Yoga more than 35 years ago. She began teaching Yoga in 2000. Her classes have attracted people from all walks of life, including teens, seniors, full-time moms, nurses, golfers, equestrians, commuters, teachers, police officers, farmers, and even a blacksmith who spends his workday bent over while shoeing horses. Heather has a special interest in helping those with medical concerns. In addition to her Yoga certifications, she is a Therapeutic Touch Practitioner.  Consults and treatments are available on request.

Come to class ready to relax and enjoy  • It's best to do Yoga on an empty stomach  • Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes  • Bring your own Yoga mat  • You may wish to bring bottled water  • Bring a small throw, or blanket for the "end relaxation" phase of the class  • In consideration of those with allergies/sensitivities, please do not wear perfume  • Bare feet work best when doing Yoga  • Everything about Yoga is Natural - go at your own pace  • Remove any jewellery that might get in your way  • Don't wear hard contact lenses if possible  • Yoga will give you more Energy, Flexibility, and Clarity Of Mind  • Yoga will help you to get a better night's sleep  By releasing physical and mental tension (a benefit itself)  you also liberate vast resources of energy.  The asanas  (yoga postures) work on all the bodily systems, stimulating  circulation, improving overall health, and stilling the mind ; an added benefit in our current hectic, overstressed lifestyle! Everyone can reap the benefits of Yoga.  Our classes are  non-competitive, and participants work at their own pace Who can practice Yoga?  Athletes, executives,teens, tweens,  moms-to-be; in short; Yoga is for everyone. Do I need to pre-register?No, just come to class. For your convenience, we have provided a Registration Form that you can print, complete and bring with you the first night. How do I pay?Payment is by cheque or cash. What if I miss the first class?Latecomers are welcome. Session fees are pro-rated for those who start late. What kind of Yoga is it?Hatha Yoga, the most traditional form. What should I wear to class?Wear loose clothes.  Bring a  yoga mat (we can lend you one for the first class). Bring a small blanket or throw for the end relaxtion.  Some people like to bring a bottle of water. Can I just come for single classes as my schedule allows?Yes.  The drop-in fee is slightly higher. I am a beginner.  Can I reallydo an All Levels Class?Yes.  Our All Levels Class accommodates a wide range of people, each working at their own pace, under close supervision. Do you give Private Lessons?Yes.  Private Lessons in your home or my studio are tailored to meet your particular needs.  Perhaps you have a medical condition, a very busy life or want more challenge.  I will also do semi-private lessons. Her  classes are well thought out and progress carefully so that all participants – no matter what level -- are able to increase their flexibility and vigour. Each pose, how it is done and when it is done in the session makes a difference. The more one practices Yoga, the more noticeable the benefits. Yoga provides gentle mobility and has proven useful in treating sore backs, shoulders and other areas. It can help heal and can even help prevent disease. It also calms the body, mind and soul.
